Announcing New and Improved WisCaregiver Careers Funding and Programming

We are pleased to announce that WisCaregiver Careers has received an additional $6 million from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. This new funding will reimburse participating nursing home employers to train and certify an additional 3,000 CNAs. It will also reimburse employers for the $500 bonuses paid to WisCaregivers at 6-month retention.

New in 2022, WisCaregiver Careers will promote mentorship to support the onboarding and retention of the new CNAs added to Wisconsin’s long-term care workforce. We will provide mentorship programming and resources to support employers who wish to explore this recruitment best practice and will reimburse $500 mentoring success bonuses paid by the employers to the mentors for every WisCaregiver mentee who attains 6-month retention.

Funding eligibility starts April 4th. Nursing facilities can utilize in-house training programs (including Emergency Nurse Aide Training Programs), online programs, or can partner with a third party such as a technical college. Training will be reimbursed at a flat rate of $700 for every trainee who attains certification. New in 2022, WisCaregiver Careers will also provide $300 employer success bonuses for every certified trainee. The program is open to new hires as well as current employees.

Please join us at our upcoming Employer Kick-Off Webinars to learn more about how to tap into this new funding, our statewide media campaign, and our CNA recruitment resources.

These webinars will be recorded and distributed.
