Call for WHCA Board Member and WiCAL Council Member Nominations

Dear Members,

Interested in serving the long term care profession by serving in a leadership position with the Wisconsin Health Care Association (WHCA) or the Wisconsin Center for Assisted Living (WiCAL)?

WHCA/WiCAL currently has vacancies on its two governing bodies:

  • The WHCA Board of Directors – This body meets six to eight times per year. There are at least three in person meetings: Spring Conference, Fall Convention and at least one other in person meeting. The remainder of the meetings are virtual. The Board manages the affairs of the Association and sets its policy direction consistent with the Association’s bylaws and direction of the general membership.
  • The WiCAL Council – This body meets at least quarterly and may have one or more in person meetings throughout the year. The remainder of the meetings are virtual.  The WiCAL Council manages WiCAL’s affairs consistent with WHCA bylaws, and policies set by the WHCA Board and direction of the general membership.

In addition to attending meetings, Board and Council members are expected to actively participate in such meetings by reviewing each meeting agenda and supporting materials beforehand. Board and Council members are also expected to proactively communicate with the general membership within their geographic districts and regions, and support important Association initiatives.

To be considered for a Board or Council seat, you must be employed at a WHCA/WiCAL member nursing facility or assisted living center (AFH, CBRF or RCAC). Please submit a letter of interest and your resume/CV to Rick Abrams’, CEO, rick@whcawical.org , attention by Friday, July 21st. If you would like to nominate a member to serve on either body, please let Rick know of your nomination by Friday, July 21st.

Thank you for your consideration of this request.
