Nurse Education Scholarship Opportunity from our colleagues at the WI Director of Nursing Council – Application deadline is January 9, 2025

The Wisconsin Director of Nursing Council (WDONC) is excited to unveil a significant update to its 2025 scholarship program, making it easier than ever to support nursing professionals pursuing advanced education in long-term care. Both scholarships will now be awarded through a nomination process, simplifying participation and celebrating deserving candidates.

Why This Change?

By moving to a nomination-based process, they aim to:

  • Highlight deserving candidates through leaders’ recommendations.
  • Foster participation by reducing barriers to applying for scholarships.
  • Strengthen connections within the long-term care nursing community.

Scholarship Opportunities

  1. WDONC Nursing ScholarshipFor those pursuing an RN degree or higher and committed to enhancing long-term care nursing in Wisconsin.
  2. Debby Schuna Advanced Nursing Memorial ScholarshipHonoring Debby Schuna’s legacy, founder of Pathway Health, this scholarship supports individuals pursuing BSN, MSN, or Ph.D. programs in nursing.

How to Nominate
The WDONC invites Directors of Nursing, Administrators, and nursing supervisors to nominate exceptional individuals who meet the eligibility criteria. Nominations can be submitted through the Scholarship Nomination Page by the deadline: January 9, 2025.
