Wiscaregiver Careers Employer Information
WisCaregiver Careers is a workforce development program designed to address the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) shortage in Wisconsin nursing homes by providing free CNA training, free certification testing, and a $500 bonus. The program seeks to encourage new workers to enter the field of caregiving by lowering the costs of becoming a CNA and by making training more readily accessible.

WisCaregiver Careers is administered through a partnership between Wisconsin Health Care Association (WHCA), Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) and LeadingAge Wisconsin. The program is publicly funded through the Wisconsin state budget.
WisCaregiver Careers functions as a hub between people who want to start a healthcare career as a CNA in a Wisconsin nursing home, and employers who want to hire and train them.

WisCaregiver Careers directly covers the costs of CNA certification tests and reimburses employers for training and bonuses. To receive these program benefits, employers must follow the step-by-step instructions outlined in the WisCaregiver Careers Employer Guide, available on the program’s Employer Webpage.

WisCaregiver Careers features a state-of-the-art website where jobseekers interested in becoming a CNA can learn more and connect with participating employers. The site features an interactive employer map where website visitors can search for employers using their zip code. They can then register with the program to have the list of local employers emailed to them.
WisCaregiver Careers also features the exclusive recruitment platform WisCaregiver Connections where program registrants and participating employers can create profiles and search for one another. There are how-to videos and step-by-step instructions on how to get the most out of WisCaregiver Connections on the program’s Employer Webpage.
The program has also created an Employer Toolkit, available on the Employer Webpage, featuring a ton of recruitment resources including social media content, videos, customizable brochures, sample job announcements and more.
