On September 23rd the CDC finally updated their recommendations and considerations for the COVID-19 Vaccinations in 2026-27.

In short there are two types of vaccines recommended for use in the United States, mRNA and protein subunit.  Either vaccine is recommended for all adults 18 years and older and  for all children ages 6 months – 17 years with moderate to severe immunocompromise.  For all other children, the vaccination is recommended through shared clinical decision making.
