From the Division of Quality Assurance – Important 2025 Nursing Home Survey Statistics

DHS logo

We wanted to make sure that you saw the recent 2025 statistical information that our Division of Quality Assurance has published.  You can review the data by hitting the link and then going to “Compliance History and Statistics”.   This data is not only important.  In many areas, it is quite troubling:  Wisconsin ranks above the national average and at the top of its CMS region (#5) for immediate jeopardy, actual harm and substandard quality of care citations.

At WHCA/WiCAL, we are proud of the quality of care in our facilities and even more importantly, we are so proud and so thankful for our employees who show up each and every day to provide the finest care possible for the most vulnerable among us.

WHCA/WiCAL staff will be discussing these troubling results with DQA leadership.  They should be as, if not more, concerned than we are.  Stay tuned….

New Resources Available

The Division of Quality Assurance (DQA) announced the addition of Nursing Home Compliance History and Statistics to the Department of Health Services’ website.

The webpage includes survey statistics and consumer reports. Data will be updated regularly and include Wisconsin, CMS Region 5, and national data for comparison. Because of the transition to new federal software, DQA is no longer able to produce regional office-specific information.
