AHCA/NCAL Partners with Welcome.US: Working with Local Refugee Groups
President Biden announced last month that 100,000 people forced to flee Ukraine can seek safe haven in the United States, and beginning April 25, they can apply to come here under a government program known as “Uniting for Ukraine.” But coming to the United States through this pathway requires support from a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or other legally-residing individual – including representatives of non-government organizations.
AHCA/NCAL has continued to work with Welcome.US to support their mission of helping refugees via partnerships with local and national organizations and to offer our new neighbors meaningful jobs and assistance. Here is Welcome.US’s press release on the announcement of the Uniting for Ukraine program.
