Wisconsin Department of Health Services officials recently said that they are still awaiting approval from CMS for the Family Care Direct Care Workforce Funding initiative. Last year, a work group of stakeholders including WHCA/WiCAL staff and DHS officials indicated a desire for using a one-time payment structure rather than the quarterly system used in the past. That proposal was denied by CMS and a quarterly structure is now under review.
