Lakeland Care One Time Payment to Providers

Lakeland Care, Inc. (LCI) has recently announced that they will be issuing a one-time payment to providers who had a contracted rate decrease in 2021. As described in a June 24th letter to providers, LCI promised to pass on profits to providers with a contracted rate decrease if it became available.

As part of a profit share program with other MCOs and DHS, they unexpectedly received a $4.5 million payment. Lakeland projected each provider’s loss due to the rate decrease and gave back an equal % of each provider’s projected loss. Providers can expect to receive a check, issued by WPS, by July 31. Either the check itself or the provider remittance will say “one-time bonus.”
