Wisconsin has elected to collect Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) codes on Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA) assessments effective October 1, 2020. Please see Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ technical specifications for more information.

Wisconsin will use the additional acuity information collected to inform future Medicaid payment model decisions.

For questions about the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) or Minimum Data Set (MDS), please visit the RAI/MDS information page on the Wisconsin Department of Health Services website.

For payment model questions, please contact Rene Eastman.

If you have any further questions, please contact WHCA/WiCAL Director of Reimbursement Policy Kate Dickson.
