UW System Renews Student Health Care Worker Initiative for 2022!

We are pleased to report that the UW System has renewed its very successful Student Health Care Worker initiative through February 28, 2022. During the winter of 2020 -2021, over 2000 students worked in Wisconsin’s health care facilities.   Nursing facilities, assisted living centers and residences for folks living with disabilities, as well as other clinical and health care settings, are eligible to employ the students.

A student must meet three criteria to be eligible for a $500 Spring 2022 Semester tuition credit:

  • The student must be enrolled at a UW System campus during the Spring 2022 semester;
  • She/he must work at least 50 hours by February 28th in a clinical or health care setting;
  • The student must meet health care licensure or certification requirements.

The UW system will be utilizing the Handshake online listing and candidate management system. Click HERE for additional information about the program. This information also includes Career Center contacts for each of UW’s 13 campuses.
