The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released its long-awaited minimum staffing standard for nursing facilities on May 10, 2024.  While the specific RN, CNA and aggregate requirements do not take effect for at least two years, an expanded and more comprehensive facility staffing and needs assessment process will take effect on August 8, 2024.
