The WisCon Safety and Health Program (Program) is offered through a partnership between the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, University of Wisconsin – Madison’s State Laboratory of Hygiene and the U.S. Department of Labor.  In addition to providing free on-site safety and health inspection and consultation services to any Wisconsin business with 250 or fewer employees, the Program offers monthly webinars and a monthly “Words of Wisdom” newsletter.

The on-site safety and health inspection and consultation service is voluntary, cost-free and confidential.  The service is entirely employer initiated.  Service records are protected by federal law from public disclosure and involves absolutely no penalties or enforcement.  The employer’s only obligation is to correct any identified serious hazards within a reasonable timeframe and imminent danger situations must be corrected immediately.
