Ann Angell to retire as Director, Bureau of Nursing Home Resident Care, Wisconsin Division of Quality Assurance

Dear members:

We wanted to let you know that Ann Angell, Director, Bureau of Nursing Home Resident Care, will be retiring from the Division of Quality Assurance following a career of almost 24 years.  Prior to joining DQA, Ann worked in our sector as a DON and held other positions within our nursing facilities.  At DQA, Ann “did it all”:  Surveyor, Regional Field Operations Supervisor, Regional Field Operations Director, Deputy Bureau Director, culminating in her current role as Bureau Director.

The nursing home survey environment is a very difficult one, both for the “regulator” and the “regulated”.  While members and the Association have disagreed with Ann and her DQA colleagues at times (actually pretty regularly 😊), Ann’s professionalism, commitment to duty, respect and humanity has always shined through, has always been greatly appreciated and will be greatly missed.  Ann’s last day at DQA will be Friday, February 3rd.  I hope that you will join me in thanking Ann for her valued service to our sector and to our residents, and wish her only the best that life has to offer.

Sincerely,

William “Rick” Abrams
CEO
