The Wisconsin Department of Health Services recently provided an update about the Infection Prevention and Infrastructure Matching Grant. According to DHS, they received over 1,000 applications from nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other types of LTCFs with more than $13 million requested in reimbursement. These requests exceeded the approximately $4.8 million granted to DHS by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The WTA® (Wound Treatment Associate) educational program was developed by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society (WOCN®) to meet the growing need for skilled wound care providers in all care settings and to enhance nurses’ ability to provide optimal care for patients with acute and chronic wounds, as members of a collaborative wound care team. The WOCN Society has been recognized with distinction by the ANCC as a provider of continuing education and is recognized by CMS as a resource for best practices related to wound management.
