WisCaregiver Careers CNA Mentoring Webinar Series
The Wisconsin Health Care Association and LeadingAge Wisconsin have received a $6 million grant for WisCaregiver Careers. WisCaregiver Careers provides four kinds of financial support to nursing facilities, newly trained and certified CNA’s, and their mentors: Facilities that train and successfully certify CNA candidates will receive $1000 in reimbursement ($700 for the cost of training plus a $300 bonus); Newly certified CNA’s who stay with a facility for at least six months will receive a $500; While not a mandatory part of the program, facilities that choose to institute a mentorship program will receive an additional $500 payment that must be given to the new CNA’s mentor.
This week, WisCaregiver Careers hosted the second of three free webinars designed to help long-term care providers implement a peer-to-peer CNA mentorship program. At the webinar, our mentoring experts provided “train-the-trainer” instruction on how to conduct a skills clinic for your CNA mentors to ensure they are providing cares “by the book” before they start working with your new CNA trainees.
If you were not able to attend and are still interested, do not worry. Check out the online mentorship resources folder where you can access webinar recordings, presentation slides, and materials you can use to get started with your new or improved peer-to-peer CNA mentorship program.
The folder is not password protected, so please do not distribute the link or materials outside of the Wisconsin long-term care community.
