WHCA/WiCAL Welcomes Communications and Government Relations Specialist

WHCA/WiCAL is pleased to announce Allison Cramer as our new Communications and Government Relations Specialist.

“On behalf of WHCA/WiCAL’s member long-term care providers, I am excited to welcome Allison Cramer to our team as Communications and Government Relations Specialist,” said President & CEO John Vander Meer. “With Allison’s experience and qualifications, she will be instrumental in ensuring that our members’ interests are well represented in the Capitol.”

Allison joins WHCA/WiCAL with more than four years of experience in the State Capitol, most recently working concurrently for the Senate Vice-Chair of the Joint Committee on Finance and the Senate Majority Leader. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

She brings with her many years of professional experiences in state politics and political campaigns to WHCA/WiCAL with a new perspective and ideas for advancing the association’s advocacy efforts in the Capitol. In addition to government relations, Allison will also be assisting in sending out WHCA/WiCAL’s weekly e-newsletter, CareConnection, among other responsibilities.

“I am looking forward to advancing the goals of the long-term care provider community through advocacy with state policy makers, including increasing Medicaid reimbursement, allocating more funding for Family Care, and addressing the long-term care workforce shortage,” Cramer said. “I am excited to learn more about our members, the critical care they provide every day, and the challenges they face so I can be a strong advocate for the long-term care provider community.”

Allison will join WHCA/WiCAL’s experienced government relations team, which includes WHCA/WiCAL President & CEO John Vander Meer and Director of Public Affairs Jim Stoa, as well as WHCA/WiCAL contract lobbyists Ramie Zelenkova, Greg Hubbard, and Katie White from the firm Hubbard, Wilson, and Zelenkova.

Please feel free to welcome Allison to our association. She can be reached at our office at (608) 257-0125 or via email at allison@whcawical.org.

Please let WHCA/WiCAL staff know if you have any questions.
