The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 delineated the right for workers to have safe and healthful working conditions. OSHA’s purpose is to ensure that employers provide those working conditions. One method is to develop and enforce standards, but OSHA has a number of other methods to pursue that mission. This presentation will help attendees to:
- Identify the functions, and programs from federal OSHA
- Describe the obligations of employers to provide a safe and healthful workplace
- Identify the OSHA standards the apply to long term care facilities.
- List the most frequently cited OSHA standards found in long term care facilities.
- Prepare for an OSHA inspection
