U.S. Department of Labor issues final Overtime Rule update; Federal Trade Commission issues final rule prohibiting almost all Non-Compete Clauses in Employment Contracts
On April 23, 2024, the federal government issued two very important regulations: The U.S. Department of Labor issued a final rule update on employees who are included and those who are exempt from the payment of overtime pursuant to the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act. The Federal Trade Commission issued a long-awaited regulation that would make nearly all preexisting and future U.S. non-compete agreements with workers unenforceable.
