ICYMI: Rate Increase for Family Care HCBS Providers Approved; 5% Increase Effective January 1, 2022
The Wisconsin Medicaid reimbursement rate for home and community-based services (HCBS) will go up by 5% effective January 1, 2022, through March 31, 2024. The increase comes from federal funding authorized by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Family Care HCBS providers will benefit from these increased rates.
This increase is one part of a larger spending plan submitted by DHS for use of the one-time increase in FMAP funding through the ARPA program. Wisconsin has until 2024 to use the funds and will do so in a number of ways outlined HERE.
While the state has a limited time period in which to use the funds, the hope is that the rate increase will be included in the capitation rates moving forward and WHCA/WiCAL will certainly be advocating for that to occur.
