WHCA/WiCAL Calls for Member Participation in Committees

As member-driven organizations, the Wisconsin Health Care Association and the Wisconsin Center for Assisted Living (WHCA/WiCAL) depend upon representatives from their long-term care facility membership to identify and help address key issues facing the state’s long-term care provider community. One of the principal ways in which the goals of WHCA/WiCAL are accomplished is through active member participation in a series of committees that address many of the challenges facing the profession.

On behalf of WHCA/WiCAL as the incoming Board President, I am asking that you strongly consider committee membership for yourself, as well as for any member of your staff that has an interest in advancing the care we provide to skilled nursing and assisted living facility residents in Wisconsin. Participation in these committees is central to meeting the needs of our membership.

PLEASE NOTE: While you may have received this email as a primary contact within your WHCA/WiCAL Member facility, there are other people within your facility who this message is relevant to as well. Please distribute this message to other staff members who would be able to contribute to one of the WHCA/WiCAL committees.

I realize that time is a precious commodity and that many of us have little extra to spare; however, as our profession continues to change, WHCA/WiCAL needs your help in setting the direction for the future. From personal experience, I can tell you that the committee meetings are valuable and provide each attendee with unique information and a “heads up” as to what is occurring in our profession. At times these meetings are held via teleconference; it is also possible to make arrangements for members to participate via conference call when necessary. The initial deadline to sign up for one of these committees is Friday, January 10, 2020.
