Many of you are probably familiar with “WISHIN”, the Statewide Health Information Network.  Created by our state legislature in 2009, WISHIN is the state’s designated entity for governance and implementation of statewide health information exchange.  Their platform, WISHIN Pulse, is a community health record that offers complete and current clinical HIPAA-compliant information about patients who you are considering for admission.  As the momentum continues to build toward value-based payment, bundled payment and even site-neutral payment, having an accurate and comprehensive picture of a prospective admission becomes even more critical.

WISHIN connects with more than 2200 sites of care, including 80% of Wisconsin’s hospitals. Importantly, the Pulse platform is electronic health record (EHR) “agnostic”; it provides interoperability with almost any EHR.
