University of Wisconsin School of Nursing’s CARE U: Supporting Older Adults and Those Who Care for Them
Since 2014, the University of Wisconsin School of Nursing’s Center for Aging Research and Education (CARE) has delivered free one-day “CARE U” workshops for CNA’s, personal care workers, and other direct care staff who support older adults in a variety of settings. Those who are WisCaregiver Careers Certified Direct Care Professionals (CDCPs) and participate in a CARE U workshop, are eligible to receive the “Universal Caregiver” digital badge. CARE also offers free two-day train-the-trainers to expand the reach of CARE U across Wisconsin.
